This page presents the work carried out around brewing barley, from its cultivation to its use, in order to evaluate its technical, economic and environmental potential in the Greater Region.
FEASIBILITY STUDY ON SETTING UP A CROSS-BORDER MALTING PLANT IN THE GREATER REGION
TOWARDS A CROSS-BORDER MALTING PLANT IN THE GREATER REGION
A technical-economic study will be carried out on setting up a cross-border malting plant to assess the opportunity of creating such a facility in the Greater Region and define the appropriate size based on the needs identified among brewers.
This study will take into account the equipment, the manufacturing process and will integrate different scenarios for the geographical location of the facility, the economic model, the management arrangements…
Alongside this analysis, a study trip to meet economic operators who have created processing facilities nearby will be organized.
It will be open to all actors in the sector and will aim to exchange on best practices and conditions to be met to develop a cross-border malting plant that could process the barley produced in the Greater Region.
